A CULTURE OF PURPOSE

Elevating your life with soulful products. Redefining what Luxury truly means.

OUR COMMITMENT TO
ANIMALS, PEOPLE & PLANET

We are committed to using 100% vegan and cruelty-free materials. Our products are free of leather, silk, fur, wool, bone, horn and animal byproduct adhesives. We use a variety of alternatives in our construction.

All of these outer body materials contain plastics. While this is not a 100% eco-friendly alternative, it is a highly sustainable approach to replace the use of leather. Animal husbandry for food and fashion form 80% of our green house gas pollution. Not to mention the pollution of our fresh water resources from harmful chemicals and the blood of the animals washed off into rivers from leather production.

DESIGN

Our design process begins with you! We take inspiration from feedback that we receive from our customers. Our styles are functional and classic with modern elements that reflect the current fashion trends. Our designer begins with sketches and images that are then sent over to our factories for sampling. Once we perfect the sample stage, the bag is put into production. The production lot goes through several rounds of testing.

LOAD TEST

A bag’s ability to withstand a certain weight without falling apart is essential. The good news is that the load test used for this is easy to perform and doesn’t require special equipment. It’s also among the most standard tests for bags. The load test is performed on bags with handle, which could be envisaged in use, and then lifting them by the handle and setting them down. Any damage is assessed visually.

TEAR RESISTANCE TEST

This is done by placing the test sample into a tensile testing or universal test machine so that the section on one side of the fracture is pulled up and the section on the other side is pulled down. A steady load is then applied until the tear has propagated through the entirety of the sample and the two sections have been completely separated from one another. The overall goal of a tear test is to determine a materials ability to resist the growth of the initial tear or its “tear resistance”. This characteristic is particularly important to applications that use non-leather vegan and plant-based materials that may suffer a partial rupture intentionally or otherwise.

STRAP STRENGTH TEST

This tests the strength of straps and strap fastenings as part of the quality assessment of handbags and belts. Whether composed of vegan leather or fabric material, our team of experts test to ensure finished products are fit for consumer satisfaction.

CHEMICAL TESTING

Chemical testing includes restricted and hazardous substances and chemical smart screening. It has become crucial to monitor and control the usage of chemical in the production cycle in accordance with the Restricted Substances List as many of the chemicals have been deemed to be harmful to the environment and to humans. While lead, nickel, Azo dyes, chromium VI, formaldehyde and PFOS/PFOA are most commonly involved, nearly 100 substances on the list need to be closely monitored. The materials we choose to manufacture our bags have all been tested for such substances and pass the California Prop65 requirement.

MANUFACTURING

As the material industry is evolving to innovate on leather alternatives, even materials made from pineapple fibers, apple skins, grapes, mushroom contain some amount of plastic to make them waterproof and durable. In 2018, we set out on a quest to find the perfect alternative that was plastic free! We were able to source a beautiful local, authentic Korean material made from Mulberry plant leaf pulp.
